AUB Zine Society join forces with Good Comics!

Hi everyone,

As we at Good Comics start to emerge from our winter hibernation, we kicked things off with two events at the start of this month - first the South Coast Maker's Market in Bournemouth at the Loading Dock on Saturday 5th March. Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat! We had a good time - and definitely drank too much coffee to keep warm.

Secondly, we were thrilled to be invited to talk to the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) Zine Society about Good Comics' humble beginnings, our back catalogue, tackling a Kickstarter right through to what we're up to this year!

It was great fun to talk to the students about what we've been up to over the last six and a half years. They were all genuinely interested in what we do, and had some great questions on how things work behind the scenes (spoiler alert - it's a juggling act).

And even more exciting, we're looking to publish an anthology of work created by the students! We are currently open for submissions from AUB students only for a specially created book full of their comics. Here are some previews of what they've been working on:

We take our ethos of giving creators their first step into the world of publishing really seriously (for non-serious folk, we can be very srs at times). And, by reaching out to our local university this seemed like absolutely practising what we preach. Watch this space for news of the anthology as it grows and becomes a finished, printed book!

And finally, huge thanks to Miles, Emily and the team at the AUB Zine Society for being such welcoming hosts. Until next time!
